6th Annual Wagmatcook Aboriginal Arts & Culture Festival

The Peter Frank Bernard Aboriginal Music Project Show/Concert is scheduled for Friday, October 14th from 7:00pm – 9:30pm.
As part of Mi’kmaw History Month in Nova Scotia, you are invited to attend the upcoming 2016 Wagmatcook Arts & Culture Festival scheduled to take place at the Wagmatcook Culture & Heritage Centre from October 11-14, 2016. You, your organization (& staff), your schools (& students) as well as your friends & family are more than welcome to take in any one of our events that target the sharing of our beautiful Mi’kmaw culture, history, dance, songs & stories.
Festival & Events Schedule:
Tuesday, October 11th, 2016: starting at 10:00 am
Opening Ceremonies – Prayers/Drumming/Smudge
Welcoming address by Chief Norman Bernard
Keynote Guest Speakers (Kevin Howes, Music Producer)
**Introduction & performances on the Peter Frank Music Project- We will be performing live versions of his songs at the opening and then the full repertoire of his 1979 Album “Souriquois Visions” on Friday evening, which will be 14 & up. Everyone is welcome. Free Admission. (Donations will be accepted at the door.) Limited seating (about 160-180).

Grand Opening for the Aboriginal Art Exhibit
We will also feature live artists from 12:30pm – 3:00pm.
Large groups such as school groups and organizations wishing to participate are more than welcome.
