To assist Mi’kmaw communities and organizations in achieving their respective goals for Mi’kmaq History Month.

To encourage an increase in Mi’kmaq History Month events/activities/initiatives across Nova Scotia.

To support communities in promoting Mi’kmaq History Month events/activities/initiatives.

To increase awareness and education of Mi’kmaw history and culture.

To increase attendance at Mi’kmaq History Month events/activities/initiatives.

Activities we fund

• Projects that encourage and support Mi’kmaq History Month.
• One-time projects or events taking place in October.
• Assistance up to $2000 is available for successful applicants.

Who can apply

• Mi’kmaq groups, Mi’kmaq organizations, and Mi’kmaq communities in Nova Scotia hosting a Mi’kmaq History Month activity or event.
