2017 Honouree Mi’kmaq Heritage: The Mi’kmaq Heritage Hockey Classic- Bury the Hatchet

Join the Mi’kmaq Nation as we celebrate Heritage Day 2017, with a Mid-Winter Feast and 2 game hockey series.
The Mi’kmaq community will host a two-game hockey challenge called The Mi’kmaq Heritage Hockey Classic – Bury the Hatchet, where Chifls and Council members will play members and staff of the Nova Scotia government. The first of the two-game hockey challenge was held in Membertou on Feb. 18th.
The second game will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre.
Traditional Mid-winter Feast
Following each game, both communities will host a traditional mid-winter feast. This will be an opportunity for players, community members and all Nova Scotians to take part in an important cultural activity.
The Traditional Mid-winter Feast will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Millbrook Community Hall, 70 Church Road.
