Photo credit Malachy Schwartz \nELAPULTIEK (ehl-ah-bool-dee-egg) \n\nThursday\, October 10\, 2019 –  \n7:30pm to 8:30pm\n\n\n\nLocation: Xavier Square\n\nELAPULTIEK (ehl-ah-bool-dee-egg) – “we are looking towards” by Shalan Joudry.  In the time of Idle No More\, a young Mi’kmaw drum singer and a Euro-Nova Scotian biologist meet at dusk each day to count a population of endangered Chimney Swifts. As the relationship deepens over time\, they struggle with their differing views of the world. Each ‘count night’ reveals a deeper complexity of connection to land\, history\, and ecology\, and of reconciliation on a personal level.\nVenue: Confusion Square (outside Coady and Xavier Hall).\nSponsored by the Office of the AVP at StFX University.\nAdmission by donation. DESCRIPTION:Stories of the Land: Recalling Stories of Chief Louis Peters video project will be showing at 11:00 am at the Cookhouse in Bear River First Nation. \nThe Mi’kmawey Debert Cultural Centre and the Bar River First Nation have worked on a series of Elder interviews that focus on the Peters family.  The videos will be an educational resource\, and they will support cultural interpretations for the community. \nWe honour Bazil Peters\, Kay Best and Leo Peters for their contribution to this video project. \n  \nThere will also be a Atlatl Demonstration at 1:00 pm. \n  \nPlease come out and join us! \n
